Best forElevated mounts, light-coloured terraces

A bifacial panel has glass on the back as well as the front, so it generates from light reflected off whatever is underneath it.

Be careful with this one, because the extra output depends entirely on what it is mounted over. On a white-painted terrace or an elevated structure with open ground below, you can gain 5-15%. Lying flat against a dark tiled roof with no gap, you gain almost nothing and have paid extra for glass.

We will tell you honestly which of those your roof is before you order. If it is the second, buy the Mono PERC and put the difference towards a bigger system.

The double-glass build is also more durable — no backsheet to yellow or crack, and better resistance to hail and humidity.
